Meet Mrs. Mandy

Hello and thank you for choosing Act I Daycare and Preschool!

My name is Mandy Rupert. I started Act I Daycare and Preschool in 2022. I have been teaching for over 17 years, I have an Early Childhood Special Education Credential and a B.A. in Communications. Since 2005 I have been working within the public school system teaching in both general and special education preschool.

My Goal

My main goal as an educator is to make sure your child feels safe, comfortable and happy in my care. I take pride in assessing, teaching, cultivating creativity and nurturing young children. 

My Philosophy

I believe in meeting each child where they are at and setting targets for the next developmental milestone in each domain. I teach with a play based curriculum and follow the Preschool Learning Foundations. I have been trained in Handwriting Without Tears (HWT), the Picture Exchange Communication Program (PECS), Classroom Pivotal Response training (CPRT) and know moderate “Preschool” sign language.

A little bit about me

I have directed Elementary school musicals for over 10 years and find the importance of combining music and movement with education. Being a lover of the arts, I encourage play with different art mediums, sensory activities, and opportunities to work on various fine motor skills.
